Allianz Global Assistance Reminds Travellers to Take Extra Precautions When Visiting the Middle East

  • Keep your hands clean: wash your hands regularly with soap and water, and use a hydroalcoholic solution in public places
  • Avoid any and all contact with animals
  • Keep a safe distance from people who demonstrate signs of an ear, nose or throat infection (common cold, cough…)
  • Consult a physician if you have a fever over 38°C and a cough or difficulty breathing. If you display these symptoms, wear a surgical mask (if you do not have a mask, use another form of protection such as a bandana, a handkerchief or your hand when you cough or sneeze).

When returning to their home country, in case of a fever above 38°C and respiratory trouble (which can range from a simple cough to difficulty breathing), it is recommended that travellers call their doctor or the emergency services, and let them know where they have travelled to and for how long.
