Allianz Global Assistance Staff Rally Round for Festive Fundraising

The One More Gift campaign asks employees from Allianz Global Assistance to buy an extra present with their Christmas shopping and all the gifts are donated to the students at St Giles. This year the presents were handed out after the school’s Nativity performance, which gave everyone that festive feeling.

The Allianz Global Assistance Christmas Choir raised their voices outside the Croydon Visitors Centre one lunch time, bringing Christmas cheer to everyone who passed by whilst they collected donations for St Giles. The company’s Christmas party kicked off with a charity raffle. Prizes included donations from Crystal Palace, BMW, Mercedes and Saracens, helping to raise a total of £1,300 for the school.

Virginia Marshall, Head Teacher at St Giles School comments, “Once again, the One More Gift campaign brought all our pupils and staff some Christmas sparkle. It’s all thanks to the staff at Allianz Global Assistance, who always give their time and energy to support St Giles and raise vital funds to ensure we can continue helping our pupils.”

As part of its commitment to the wider community, Allianz Global Assistance staff also helped pack Christmas hampers, which were distributed by the Croydon Neighbourhood Care Association to local elderly residents.

Serge Corel, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Global Assistance in the UK and Ireland says, “December is always a busy month in our fundraising calendar and this year we raised more than ever for St Giles school. We want to thank everyone who was involved in all our activities, giving up their time to support two very worthwhile causes. As a business, we feel it’s important to give something back to our local community and Christmas is a great time to focus that energy. Our staff always give their all to our fundraising events and we look forward to working together to volunteer for more local projects in 2014.”
