Allianz Global Assistance UK Comes Together for Children in Need 2014

Once again the evening was packed with fun and special guests. Saracen’s player Mako Vunipola visited the call centre to meet the volunteers and keep everyone in high spirits. The volunteers were also treated to refreshments from The Cronx Brewery and fantastic goody bags filled with sweets, magazines and handy samples like perfumes and shampoo. The volunteers were entertained by Pudsey games, a balloon man, a magician, massages and much more. A raffle and internal fund raising events, including a samosa and a cake sale, raised a further £1,000 for Children in Need.

Many local organisations, including Simply Lunch and Croydon College contributed to the evening by donating sandwiches and canapés to keep the volunteers going and reward them for their hard work.

Serge Corel, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Global Assistance in the UK and Ireland, said, “Every year we like to do our bit for Children in Need, and this year proved just how much of a success it can be. We are very proud to be able to say that we collected over £72,500 of donations that goes towards such a fantastic cause. The support that we receive from our volunteers is invaluable and it wouldn’t be possible without their enthusiasm and dedication.

“We always have tremendous support from local businesses too with donations such as food on the night and raffle prizes, it’s fantastic to be able to work together each year to support the vital work that Children in Need does. We are looking forward to continuing the support for the charity in the years to come, and working with the local community in other great fundraising opportunities.”
