Allianz Global Assistance UK Delivers Unique Nationwide Training Programme for Vehicle Recovery Operators

This initiative forms part of Allianz Global Assistance’s commitment to raising standards across the industry, by ensuring that the approved vehicle recovery companies it uses are knowledgeable and confident in matters relating to its Roadside Assistance clients.

The course covered Allianz Global Assistance’s automotive and financial clients, their brand expectations, customer service skills and training with new vehicles, such as electric and hybrid vehicles. The vehicle line-up used to demonstrate loading onto a recovery truck, included models from Aston Martin, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, and Volvo.

The programme has also helped raise awareness to ex-military staff who could be considered for employment by local vehicle recovery companies whilst also highlighting opportunities for civilian professional recovery operators in the Army reserve.

Ben Johnson, UK Network Manager at Allianz Global Assistance UK, comments, “These free training sessions are unique within the industry, demonstrating Allianz Global Assistance’s commitment to supporting recovery network operators in helping them deliver service excellence. The course was hugely successful, with everyone who attended coming away with something they could put into practice at work. We are also helping businesses who want to attract ex-military personnel, providing training that builds on their prior experience.

“These training sessions offer us a great opportunity to demonstrate new technologies and vehicle design to operators who may not otherwise benefit from hands on training with vehicles we typically assist. As a result, recovery professionals go away feeling more informed and more confident, which raises the standard of the industry as a whole.”
