Biggest Children In Need yet for Mondial Assistance UK

While Sir Terry Wogan, Tess Daly and Fearne Cotton entertained the nation on the BBC, Mondial Assistance UK employees once again worked feverishly in the background taking pledges over the phone. Donating its call centre and volunteer employees once again, Croydon-based Mondial Assistance took £182,194 worth of pledges, beating its total from last year by £30,000 and coming 4th of all UK call centres volunteering.

As part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, Mondiality, over 120 employees manned the phones late into the night. But it wasn’t all hard work, with activities ranging from Wii games to face painting to keep spirits and motivation high.

Clarissa Joshua, who is responsible for Mondiality, says, “Once again Children in Need has been a fantastic night for Mondial Assistance, with great fun had by all and a fantastic result to boot. A sponsored beard shaving and a raffle on the night raised over £870, which we hope to double with a couple more fundraising events later in the month.”

As always, Croydon businesses were extremely generous and donated food, drinks and goody-bag treats to keep employees going. Food and Drink came flooding in from Scrumpchinos, Best Beverages, Greggs, Krispy Kreme, Yo! Sushi and Café Zest, while Beautiful Harmony staff offered relaxing massages to volunteers on the phones.

All employees taking part received a fantastic goody bag, which contained treats donated by more businesses - Goody Good Stuff, Beautiful Harmony, Weleda, G&J Greenalls, Volvo, Dorset Cereals, Allders, Fusion Leisure Centres, Twinings, Cafe Nero and Crystal Palace FC.

“We would like to say a massive thank you again to all the businesses that donated goodies to help us along the way – without you we may not have had the stamina to carry on!” Clarissa continues. “I would also like to thank the Mondial Assistance employees, who are always generous with both their time and money when it comes to charity events. This has been proven once again with the amount of money we took in pledges and donations from employees – I am extremely proud to be involved in this event, and already looking forward to next time!”
