Mondial Assistance UK Sponsors Croydon Charity Ball

Crystal Palace Football Ground hosted the Croydon Charity Ball on 24 May with sponsor Mondial Assistance UK throwing itself behind the success of this local event, which has become a highlight on the local business calendar. The black-tie event raised over £45,000, while over 700 guests enjoyed a three course meal and entertainment, making it a night to remember and raising much needed funds for local charities.

This year Age UK Croydon and Croydon Commitment were named as the main beneficiaries of the Charity Event, featuring a raffle and silent auction. Top comedian Josh Daniels provided the laughs for the evening, with host and Palace fan, David Jenson keeping things running smoothly. Over dinner, guests were treated to live music from the Brit School and live party band ‘Pop Fiction’.

As sponsors of the event and a founding partner of Croydon Commitment, Mondial Assistance hosted five tables at the event with twenty-five guests and their partners invited from throughout the business. A few Mondial Assistance guests managed to get a photo opportunity with Lionel Blair, who was there representing Age UK. And another member of staff won a briefcase in the charity raffle.

“Croydon Charity Ball is a fantastic local event to support and we are delighted that the evening was such a huge success, raising a significant amount of money for these worthy causes,” says Simon Kirby, Marketing Manager for Mondial Assistance UK. “Everyone had a fantastic night with one lucky guest winning a signed football shirt in the silent auction.

“Among our guests, we included the winners of our Above and Beyond 2010 competition and our Green Champions. The ball offers us an opportunity to recognise the achievements of colleagues who get involved in our various activities, across the business, recognising their commitment to Mondial Assistance and the local community. We look forward to supporting this great event in 2012, when The Croydon Charity Ball will celebrate its tenth anniversary.”
