Staff Raise over £1400 for Pakistan Flood Relief

Clarissa Joshua, who is responsible for the Mondial Assistance CSR programme, Mondiality, commented, “Never let it be said that Mondial Assistance employees don’t do their bit for charity – everyone really did go the extra mile, buying, baking and eating cakes, cookies and other treats! It’s not exactly hard to persuade people to eat cake, but everyone was extremely generous with many actually paying four times what the cakes were worth, and some even buying back their own cakes just to give to this worthy cause.”

Mondiality also ran a Quiz Night to raise even more cash. The competition was fierce with some great prizes up for grabs. Prizes donated by local businesses included lunch for four at Jurys Inn, and a cut and blow-dry at Rush Hair and Beauty. Local take-away Chick’n Box generously provided free pizzas and samosas while Sainsbury’s donated a £20 voucher towards drinks to keep competitors fed and watered.

“We are delighted with the success of our latest fundraising activities, which form part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility programme,” Clarissa Joshua added. “All employees have thrown themselves into these events to raise funds for relief efforts in Pakistan after the floods, clearly illustrating their generosity and eagerness to help others. It also shows how successful Mondiality has become, and how it brings staff together in a fun, meaningful and valuable way. It also demonstrates just how much we all love cake!

“We would like to express our deep gratitude for all the local businesses who donated prizes and food, helping to make the Quiz Night a huge success. Without these donations we couldn’t have reached such a grand total.”
