Technical Training Manager Gains Automotive Management Accreditation

Once again Durham man Mike Donley, Technical Training Manager at Mondial Assistance in the UK, has been recognised for outstanding service and commitment in the automotive sector. Following assessment under the voluntary scheme, Mike has been awarded the Automotive Management Accreditation (AMA), presented by Steve Nash, After Sales Director for BMW Group (UK).

The AMA is an employer-led industry benchmark, aiming to provide personal recognition and ongoing development for successful candidates, bringing benefits to the individual, employer and industry. The new scheme focuses on providing clear progression and career paths for managers and leaders in the sector, as well as enabling individuals to demonstrate current competence and professionalism.

Mike Donley says, “I am delighted to be part of the AMA programme, which offers managers in the automotive industry a chance to develop their skills and gain recognition. It is a great honour to gain this accreditation, as the IMI continues to provide automotive professionals with clear skills assessments and a career path that encourages best practice. This accreditation is testament to the support and training I have received at Mondial Assistance, helping me build a successful career over the last 14 years.”

Mike was also recently presented with an IVR Fellowship, and honoured with The Gold Truck Award for Exceptional Services & Contributions to the Recovery Industry at the Institute of Vehicle Recovery (IVR) Annual General Meeting. Mike is also the chairman of the Rescue and Recovery Trainers Association. This role sees him work with new students, offering training and advice for the instructors of the future.

Serge Corel, Managing Director of Mondial Assistance in the UK, concludes, “Mike is a driving force behind training and best practice at Mondial Assistance, ensuring our technicians are always of the highest calibre. Management and leadership skills are often overlooked, so it is fantastic to see Mike gain this accreditation, which recognises his natural ability and experience in this field. This new accreditation scheme should help set a new standard across the industry.”
